About us
I started on my path to the dog training world many years ago when I began working at a major retail pet store, one day there was an opening for dog trainer position and I was offered the opportunity to learn all about dog behavior and training principles. I had been afraid of dogs since I was young because of an incident when I was bitten by a neighbors dog, but I saw this as an opportunity to learn and potentially grow out of my fear, and it worked! I fell madly in love with dogs and understanding why they do what they do and what incredible creatures they truly are.
I have since furthered my education and graduated from CATCH dog trainers academy through their master class program, paired with an incredible local trainer as my mentor, and have received my CCDT. I plan on continuing to further my education and will continue to strive to spread the word about positive reinforcement dog training. To truly build long lasting bonds between humans and their dogs with no need for any fear or pain.
I have an almost 3 year old Belgian Malinois named Rikku and she is the love of my life, we have grown a relationship built on trust and respect, and hey, what good relationships don't start with that important foundation? She is full of spunk and has the most loving personality, everyone and everything is a potential best friend in her eyes. The HYPE name was born out of her unending HYPEd attitude that all things are awesome.
Everyone deserves to understand their best friend and that's what I am here for! Dog training isn't solely about you telling your dog what to do and they do it because they are "obedient" or "know better" it's about having an understanding between one another and your buddy knowing you have their back as much as you know they have yours.
